Using the Quick Bar

The Quick Bar provides you an alternative method to the Note Picker for assigning instruments and channels to triggers.

The Quick Bar appears below the main viewport when in Edit mode .

It consists of a series of screens that you use to drill down to the instrument you want to assign.

The individual screens are:

1) Channel Selection.  Click a MIDI channel number here to move to the next screen.

2) Group Selection.  If the selected MIDI channel has a mapping assigned to it, you will see the individual groups here (Kicks, Snares, etc.).  Click a group to drill into it.  Click the "back" button to return to the channel selection screen.

3) Note Selection.  Here you will see all the items in that group.  The contents will vary for each mapping.  For instance if you selected the High Hat group, you might see Closed, Open and Pedal items listed here.  Click an item to start the note selection process.  Click the "back" button to return to the group selection screen.

Once you've selected an item, the quick bar switches over to a "wait state" and prompts you to select a trigger.  Whichever trigger you click will be assigned that note number and also the channel number.

With a little practice, you should find the Quick Bar easy to navigate and be able to quickly set up your trigger layout in an intuitive and straightforward manner.
